Our Story

Kapwa means we are all connected and that no one should face life’s challenges alone. Kapwa Global Foundation was born from personal experience. As parents of a child with cerebral palsy, we understand the challenges families face when access to care, therapy, and support is limited. Through Kapwa Global Foundation, we are committed to helping children with disabilities and families in need—so they can experience life with with dignity, support, and hope.

Why We Do This

Behind every child with disabilities in the Philippines is a family doing everything they can, often without resources, without support, and without anyone seeing the weight they carry or feeling the unspoken pain that comes with loving a child who needs more support than they can find. Many parents feel forgotten. Many children go without therapy, medical care, nutrition, or even the basics needed to get through the day.

We know that feeling. Our own journey taught us how deep that pain can be.

Kapwa is the Filipino way of seeing ourselves in one another. It is the understanding that we are bound together, that your burden is never yours alone, and that connection is a responsibility we carry with love. Our mission is to reach families who feel alone, to surround them with care, communication, and compassion, and to remind them that their child matters, their struggle matters, and they are not alone in this journey.

Where We Work

We serve children with disabilities and their families in the Philippines, where access to therapy, medical care, and daily essentials is limited and often out of reach. Many Communities lack the resources, support systems, and consistent care that families need to help their children thrive.

Our work focuses on the places where support is hardest to find, and where a single visit, a message, or a connection can change the course of a family’s day and life.

Kapwa Global Foundation is a U.S. based nonprofit headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Our name reflects the belief that compassion has no borders. While our roots are here, our work is centered on serving communities in the Philippines, where we help children and families access medical care, therapy, nutrition, and essential goods that would otherwise be out of reach. As our community of supporters grow, so does our ability to reach more families, always with the same commitment to deep, meaningful, individualized care.

Depth of Impact

What began with support for one child has grown into a program serving seven children with disabilities in the Philippines. Our mission is simple and deeply personal. We want every child to receive the support they need to live with dignity, whether that means access to medical care, therapy, nutrition, or essential goods. But more than that, we want every family to feel seen, heard, and cared for in the moments when they need it most.

Our goal is not just to reach more children. We want to provide meaningful and life changing support to every child we serve. This means taking the time to understand each family’s story and offering support that honors their dignity and their hopes for their child. As support for our work continues to grow, we are reaching more families while remaining firmly committed to deep impact and meaningful, individualized care for each child.
